An Indian American aspiring rapper from the opulent suburbs of West Palo Alto receives an opportunity to record his first track with a once popular Bay Area artist. In searching for the necessary funds, he’s met with opposition from his friends and parents, who don’t seem to hold the same belief in his dream. Left with a difficult choice, he steals the money, sneaks out through his window, and makes his way to a dingy house in a forgotten neighborhood of East Palo Alto, ultimately coming face to face with a tense reality check: one that makes him question his own privileged upbringing, immigrant roots, and affinity to hip hop culture.
